Privacy Policy

Overview
GoForPlay helps tennis players find public courts in the Greater Toronto Area and organize games and tournaments with each other. This policy explains what we collect and why.
We do not use advertising networks, we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or share personal information for marketing. There is no ad identifier and no cross-app tracking.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Linked to you |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier | To recognize the same person across devices and to attribute contributions. Created when you choose to continue as a guest or sign in. | Yes |
| Sign-in details | Only if you sign in: an email address (magic link), or an Apple / Google account identifier. Guests provide none. | Yes |
| Username and profile | Your public display name (needed to invite you to a tournament), plus optional self-reported rating and profile details. Rating details are private by default. | Yes |
| Approximate or precise location | Only after you tap "back to my location". The coordinates are sent to our server to filter courts by distance and are not stored as a location history. | Yes (in the request) |
| Court contributions | Corrections, new courts, and "want to play / playing now" signals you submit. | Yes |
| Tournament data | Tournaments you create or join, match scores, and your role in them. | Yes |
| Technical data | Server request logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We do not build user profiles from them. | No |
What we do NOT collect
- Contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
- Precise location history or background location
- Payment card details — we do not process payments at all
Court information and public data
Court records come from public open-data sources (including OpenStreetMap, licensed under ODbL, and municipal open data) and from corrections submitted by users. Court locations are public information and are not personal data.
If a court you own or manage should not be listed, see the removal process on the Support page. We remove listings on request.
Where data is stored
Account data and contributions are stored in a database hosted by Supabase. Your session token is stored locally on your device — in the iOS Keychain on iOS, and in the app's private storage on Android.
How long we keep it
Account data and tournament records are kept while your account exists. Deleting your account removes them immediately (see below). Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short operational window and are not used for profiling.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. This is immediate and permanent.
- Deleted: your profile, your tournament memberships, tournaments you organize (including their match records), and your court "want to play / playing now" signals.
- Kept but anonymized: court corrections you contributed stay on the map so other players are not affected, but they are no longer linked to you.
If you cannot access the app, email john.borui@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and we will delete it for you.
Children's privacy
GoForPlay is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us. If you are in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively, including the right to data portability and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information.
